I wouldn't go with anything under 1680x1050 for a desktop screen, and you can actually find better deals on 1920x1080 screens over 1680x1050. WebJun 30, 2010 · I had a 19" Samsung monitor with 1600x900 resolution for awhile and I thought it was rather crisp/clear. However, when I bought a Dell 23" 1080p monitor, I found it to be a night and day difference between the old Samsung. Much clearer and crisper image. If given a choice, I'd go for the 1080p resolution.
